If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook (you DO follow me, right?), then you know that Mommy Runs It was down for nearly two weeks. First I got hacked. Then my server came to the rescue and unhacked me. They made some recommendations for preventing future attacks – and let’s just say that I got a little overzealous and deleted a pretty important file. This created a “fatal error,” which I guess is the blogger’s equivalent of the Blue Screen of Death.
I was a blog widow.
Fortunately, I have a good friend who’s a computer genius. Like, literally. He did a little bit of hocus pocus and brought my dear old blog back from the dead.
Quite a lot of work piled up in two weeks. I have products to review, recipes to try, giveaways to promote, and a whole lot of thoughts running around in my head instead of here on my blog. But it wasn’t all bad. Here’s how I spent some of my extra time:
I walked on the beach.
I had a Girls Night with my girls.
We wore mud masks, watched movies, and ate popcorn in bed (shhh…sometimes it’s a good thing that my husband doesn’t read my blog).
My girls & I created a new recipe.
They call it Liquid S’Mores: graham crackers, marshmallows melted in the microwave, and chocolate syrup.
I gained 3 pounds. (See above)
I learned some very important lessons from my kids.
They taught me all about the history of the X-Men; we researched the most effective methods of defending myself from vampires, zombies, and werewolves; and we practiced the fine art of making leg farts.
It’s time for me to get back to work now. But I’m going to take another blog vacation soon. But this time the only fatal errors we’ll be making will happen during zombie fights.
