John Wm. Macy’s Cheesesticks Presents Fun Fall Snacks That Moms and Kids Will Love
Fall is here, and the kids are back in school. That means it’s time for after-school snacks. Here are some great ideas for healthy, satisfying, and fun snacks you can make with your kids.
Everyone loves pizza. So, why not make a quick and easy pizza snack for the kids? The French bread base gives this version a bit of variety from the traditional take-out. French bread pizza bites are the perfect snack when you have a bunch of hungry kids who all like something different. No one has to fight over what toppings to order because everyone can tailor-make their own pizza. All you need is some French bread, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and whatever toppings your kids desire. Everyone will love the opportunity to create their own pizzas. Once they come out of the oven, you can cut them into bite-sized pieces and let the kids munch away! (source)
Yogurt Bars
If you want an after-school snack that can double as a quick and easy breakfast for your kids (or even you), then you need to try these yogurt bars. Even kids who turn their noses up at the thought of yogurt will love these tasty and healthy bars. Perhaps the best part about making these yummy bars is that it allows the kids to seemingly play with their food. These bars also allow kids to be creative. Once the yogurt is spread out on a baking sheet, the kids can top it with any amount of healthy toppings they can think of such as nuts and dried fruit. Some time in the freezer finishes off the process, and then the bars are ready to go. (source)
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
You may not want your kids drinking gallons of pumpkin spice lattes this fall, but you can let them indulge in some roasted pumpkin seeds. Making this tasty fall snack is the perfect way to use up the pumpkin seed after you carve some Halloween jack-o-lanterns. Your kids will have a blast spreading out the seeds on baking sheets. While the seeds are slow-roasting in a low oven, you can use the opportunity to tell some ghost stories or even tell some stories about how you celebrated Halloween when you were a kid. Before you know it they’ll be out of the oven and ready to eat! (source)
Your kids might not think they like healthy snacks, but that’s because they haven’t tried these tasty triangles. These snacks are so easy to put together; the kids will hardly need your help. But that’s not even the best part about them. Not only are they easy to put together, but they are also equally simple to customize to your kids’ tastes. First, hummus is incredibly easy to assemble. But, if you don’t have the time nor inclination to do so, it’s also easy to find at the grocery store. Hummus can also be flavored with savory flavors such as sweet peppers or garlic. Another great aspect of hummus is that although it is traditionally made with chickpeas, it can be altered to be made with white beans, which can sometimes be more appealing to a youngster’s palate. These nifty sacks can further be customized with the veggies you choose to include. If your kids don’t like shredded carrot, change it out with some cucumbers or whatever your kids’ favorite veggies are. This snack is all about the process and not about the recipe. The main goal is for you and your kids to have fun with it. (source)
If you want to make your kids happy, give them their own snack bag. This is another great snack that you can put together with your kids and customize it to whatever your kids like. Popcorn is a great base to start with, and chocolate candies add a nice sweetness that counteracts and complements the saltiness. Adding raisins or another dried fruit also adds a chewy element to the snack bag. Finish it off with some zesty cheese snacks – like our crunchy and delicious CheeseCrisps – that provide yet another dimension to this eclectic snack. Your kids will love mixing this concoction up and doling out servings into individual bags. (source)
Apples are such a versatile fruit, but did you ever think you could make nachos out of them? Well, you can. Your kids will love putting these tasty treats together as much as they will love devouring them. All you need are some thinly sliced apples, caramel for drizzling, and a few other pantry staples (don’t forget the sprinkles). Before you know it, you’re kids will have a new favorite after-school snack! (source)
Have fun making these fabulous snacks with your kids. Nothing beats a snack that both parents and kids will love!
