“No matter how crazy things are at work on any given day, brushing and flossing my kids’ teeth every night is far and away the most stressful part of my day.” – my BFF
So true, right? This was my best friend’s Facebook status about a month ago. And trust me, she’s a busy executive who knows all about crazy days at work.
As the CEO of this family, my days are different than hers, but no less crazy. And brushing teeth? Not exactly a walk in the park here, either. Getting the kids to brush their teeth is a chore for our whole family. I have to admit that my both of my daughters have already had a cavity (or a “spot,” as we call them, since it sounds a little less scary).
We’ve tried lots of brands and flavors of toothpaste. They may look pretty & sparkly, or they may come in tubes decorated with favorite characters, but most of them fall short in the taste department – and that’s ultimately what matters, at least for my kids. Bubblegum and mint? Meh. My younger daughter is especially picky about toothpaste and still hasn’t quite forgiven me for making her switch from her favorite non-fluoride training toothpaste.
But recently I introduced both girls to something brand new – GUM® Crayola™ SQUEEZE-A-COLOR Toothpaste, and I think we’re finally on to something.
You’ll notice the first difference right out of the package – these tubes of toothpaste actually resemble crayons or tubes of paint. Each package comes with three brightly colored & uniquely flavored fluoride toothpastes: Melon Blast (Red), Blueberry Burst (Blue), and Jazzy Apple (Green). The toothpaste itself seems to be thinner and less gooey than traditional varieties. Plus, the tube has a small nozzle cap, which makes it easier for little hands to get the right amount on their toothbrush…and less on the counter, sink, bathroom mat, and walls. (Don’t ask.)
I’ve tasted all three, and they all really do taste good. My 8 year old is partial to the red kind, but she likes all three flavors and has fun mixing them together to make her own custom flavors. And even my 5 year old is finally letting go of her “baby toothpaste” obsession, just as long as she gets to use her green toothpaste instead.
I think GUM® Crayola™ SQUEEZE-A-COLOR Toothpaste would make an adorable stocking stuffer – and thanks to Sunstar GUM Oral Care, one of my lucky readers will get a package of it to put in someone’s stocking! Enter on the Rafflecopter below and good luck!

You’re so right about other toothpastes for kids tasting pretty gross! These look absolutely adorable, and it’s great to hear that they taste good too!
