My Awesome Book | Mommy Runs It #2014HGG

I have two creative, artistic little girls. They love all kinds of arts and crafts, but they especially love to draw. I try to save as much of their artwork as I can (which is why my house is bursting at the seams from all the piles and piles of paper). My Awesome Book is a way for them to turn some of their drawings into a forever keepsake – their very own hardcover book.

Here’s how it works. The My Awesome Book kit contains everything they need to write and illustrate their own story – ready-to-use book pages, washable markers, a postage-paid envelope, and instructions for creating their very own premium hardcover book. It also includes a “Quick Start Guide” full of ideas, tips, and inspiration, written by NY Times bestselling children’s author and illustrator Peter H. Reynolds.

Then your child can just let their imagination run wild! They become the author and illustrator of their very own book. The kit even includes an “About the Author” feature, where your child is showcased as a published author – so cute! When their work of art is complete, you have two ways to submit it for publishing –  you can either mail the finished product in the included prepaid envelope, or you and your child can create their book online.

In about 4-6 weeks after submission, your child’s full-color, professionally-bound 8.5″x11″ hardcover book will arrive!

We are still in the planning stages of our own My Awesome Book. I was going to attempt a collaboration between both girls, but after our last experience with sharing, I’m not so sure about that. But whatever we decide, I’ll definitely share the finished product with you!

To purchase or learn more about My Awesome Book, visit them online at lulujr.com. This award-winning kit is recommended for ages 6 and up, and it retails for $39.99.

This is a cute gift idea and we actually did something like this for our kids 1st grade class. Each kid made a page and we turned it into a book and the parents had the option of purchasing a copy as a keepsake.

My house is bursting at the seams with artwork, too! This would be perfect for the kids to release some of their creativity into something that lasts. Thanks for the idea!
