Vlog post #2 is up! Today I’m talking about spondylolisthesis – what it is, how you get it, and when/why it sometimes requires spinal surgery. Bonus: It’s fun having a diagnosis that no one can pronounce.
What do you think of my vlogging efforts so far? Any suggestions for improvement? Leave a comment or join the conversation at www.youtube.com/user/mommyrunsit or search YouTube for “mommyrunsit.”

Hi! I just found you blog. I had surgery for spinal stenosis the middle of February 2022. I recovered, I think, at a normal pace with walking with a walker and then a cane. I gave up the cane, can’t really say the date. I was ordered to go to PT for core strengthening. Long story short it aggravated my hip and I now have bursitis! I go back for a recheck on June 9. I am up and walking some (standing straight). Each day is a little better. My hip pain does mess with that knee also. I sit on a lot of ice packs . I am NOT doing therapy now, I am on Medicare and they control how much recovery time and then back on the exercises and the hip flares up! Ugh!

I’m glad I found your page. Been following and reading everything since before my surgery, which was 7 wks. ago….March 10,2020. I had a lamenectomy, a spinal fusion of l3, l4,l5 and S1, and a spinal decompression. Surgery was supposed to be 2 hrs…took 5 51/2 hrs. 2 days in hospital went to a full 7 days in hospital! I had a dura tear which I had to lay flat on back for 24 hrs, however, physical therapy came and got me up and out of bed which caused terrible instant spinal headache, which then I had to lay flat on back again for another 24 hrs.
As of today, though, I am off all pain meds except for extra strength Tylenol. Walking about 10-15 min a day, though I am still a little bent over. I’m working on it. It is still painful in my lower back, hard to get a good nights sleep. Some days are better than others and weather has a LOT to do with it. I’m a pretty healthy 66 yr old. Looking forward to no pain soon! I have my 8wk post op appt. next week to see how things are mending. Good luck to everybody out there! It was not what I had anticipated, but I’ll get there slow but sure.

Hi! It sounds like you’re doing amazing, especially considering all the complications! I’ve had 2 spinal headaches, and they were horrible – I can only imagine how miserable you must have been with a spinal headache PLUS recovering from surgery!!! Hopefully you are through the worst of it and things will just continue to improve for you. Stay well and keep in touch!
