So there’s this thing called Wordless Wednesday. I guess the idea behind it is to create a post consisting only of an image – an image that speaks for itself , with no words required. Hence, the whole “wordless” thing. I love the idea and I’ve tried it a handful of times, although I’ve yet to achieve a truly wordless post. Frankly, I don’t recall ever coming across a blog post anywhere that was genuinely word-free. But I guess any post with fewer than 300 words feels pretty wordless to your average blogger.
But this Wednesday, I’m experiencing a different kind of wordlessness – the kind that happens when you don’t know what to say. I have plenty of blog posts that are waiting to be written – plenty of ideas dancing in my head, products to review, even a guest post from my dad that just needs to be spiffed up a little.
But I think that’s the problem. Plenty to do and not enough time to do it all. At least not while I’m also trying to keep up with the laundry, the house, the bills, and the two little people who always seem to be jumping on my couches and asking to be fed. Oh, and not to mention trying to squeeze in at least 15 miles a week.
I’m not complaining! I’m really not. Okay, maybe I am a tiny bit. But don’t judge – I know I have it pretty good. But I get overwhelmed sometimes. And this is one of those times. And when I get overwhelmed and don’t know where to start, I have a hard time doing anything at all – that is, anything besides eating Froot Loops and watching Netflix marathons.
And with summer creeping closer & closer (6 more days, but who’s counting)…the bowls of cereal are coming fast & furious, and the blog posts aren’t.
What’s a wordless writer to do? What do you do when you lose your words – or your motivation? Help a girl out.
p.s. I’m not very good at this Wordless Wednesday thing. I didn’t even get this one in under 300 words.

Love the idea of Wordless Wednesdays!! Thank you for reminding me to put this down on my list. I have a lot to say and sometimes, I lack the time or drive to write it!! 🙂

When I first started blogging, I didn’t really get writing prompts – I thought I had way too much to say for that! 🙂 But now that I’m almost a year in, I understand that it’s not always about having nothing to write – for me, it’s mainly a way for me to organize my very unorganized brain.
