I started writing this post last Friday. Today is Wednesday and I’m officially done trying to come up with a clever, alliterative title for this post. Will you please pardon my positively plain post title?
1. Knock out! Smart Panties
First, Knock out! offers much more than just panties. They also have a sleepwear collection (designed with night sweats in mind) and a fitness collection – and every piece is supposed to keep you comfortable, dry, and odor-free all day. What makes Knock out! different from other moisture-wicking products is that their products are made from 100% cotton. That’s supposed to be a no-no, right? But Knock out! uses an all-natural, breathable, waterproof treatment on the outer panty panel. The panel is designed to absorb up to 3/4 teaspoon of fluid. Plus, the products are also made with a patented odor-absorbing material.
The folks at Knock out! sent me several products to try – a Lacy Panty, a Lacy Thong, a Bikini panty, and a No-Sweat Bra (from the fitness collection). I’m not going to go into detail here, but let’s just say that everything was very comfy and seemed to do its job. The Bikini was my favorite, and I wear it under my running shorts/skirts on a regular basis. The Lacy Panty looked huge (granny panty style) in the package, but it was actually totally cute and not at all granny-ish once I had it on.
The No-Sweat Bra is comfortable, but it’s definitely not suitable for running or other high impact workouts. But to be honest, I’m not sure how much of that is because I asked for a medium (instead of a small) – and it turned out to be way too big. Like 2 inches too big. So a better fitting bra might be more appropriate for a workout – but based on my own personal experience, I’m much more likely to sleep in it or to wear it around the house.
Knock out! Smart Panties are available in specialty stores and online. You can learn more about them on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
2. BioTerra Herbs
I’m a sucker for clever marketing, and BioTerra Herbs had me at “BELCH.” BioTerra is unique in the herbal supplement world because they don’t carry single herbs. Rather, they combine their herbs to create natural, drug-free formulas to treat a specific set of symptoms. According to their website, they do this because “it creates a synergistic effect, thus boosting the overall effectiveness” of their products. For example, BELCH is their formula for digestion. It’s a combination of 5 herbs (Chinese Rhubarb, Sparganium, Betelnut Palm, Zeodary, and Orange) in just one capsule. Two capsules after one meal is supposed to reduce bloating & gas and relieve stomach discomfort.
They also carry herbal formulas for:
- Detox (AHHH)
- Energy (BOING)
- Immunity (ZAP)
- Mental Focus (HUH?)
- Sleep (Z-Z-Z)
- Snoring (SHUSH)
- Stress (GAHH)
- Vision (ZOOM)
I dig their sense of humor. Plus all of their products are non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Vegan, and all-natural with no fillers.
I had the opportunity to try several BioTerra products – and while I haven’t used any of them for a long enough period of time to report on their effectiveness, I can tell you that they were easy to swallow with no unpleasant odor or taste. And I didn’t have any adverse effects, including stomach discomfort (which I have had on occasion with other supplemental products). Personally, I find it difficult to know which herbs to take for which symptoms, and I always worry about how the individual supplements will interact with each other. I love that BioTerra takes the guesswork out of it with their symptom-based formulas.

3. Lace Lockers
Runners – have you tried these yet? Was I the last person on the planet to hear about them?
In case I wasn’t – Lace Lockers are these clever little gizmos that keep your shoelaces from coming untied. In just a couple of quick, easy steps, your shoelaces will be totally secured in place, and they won’t budge until you want them to.
Now, I have to admit – it took me a couple of tries to figure out how to use them. They came with step-by-step instructions that even included pictures, but I still couldn’t figure them out. Of course, I happen to be a bit instructionally-challenged, so I’m probably not the norm. Fortunately, www.lacelocker.com also has an instructional video, and that was very helpful. And once I got them on the first time, it was easy to do again.
While I like my Lace Lockers, this is not a product that I use every day – primarily because I generally don’t have an issue with my shoelaces coming untied. I rarely even double knot them. But if your shoelaces frequently come loose or untied, you NEED to check these out. It’s also a great product for kids – I don’t know about yours, but my kids pretty much always have untied laces (which is why they both wear slip-on shoes to school, but that’s another story).
Lace Lockers come in several colors (black, silver, neon pink, neon green, and ladybug pattern), and they’re only $7.95 a pair. They are available online and in some running stores. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter to learn more.
4. Kidecals
As you know, I’m super organized and never lose anything.
Oh, wait, never mind. I’m thinking of someone else. I’m a mess and I lose everything. And my kids…well, let’s just say that we visit the lost and found at school on a regular basis.
I’ve been meaning to buy labels for ages. Sadly, the closest I’ve ever gotten in almost 9 years of parenting is masking tape and a Sharpie. (True story.) So when Kidecals asked me to review their waterproof labels, my answer was a resounding Yes Please.
Kidecals are personalized labels that are dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer safe. They stick to any surface – clothing, backpacks, water bottles, electronic devices…you name it. They also have a huge selection of styles to choose from, and you can have them personalized any way you want.
I wanted to purchase something that would be useful to my whole family – something gender neutral and without specific first names. I picked Thin Labels in the Scribble pattern, and I had them personalized with “property of the Wilhelm Family.” In hindsight, it probably would have been more useful to put our phone number on them – but what I picked is still great for letting the world (and the lost and found) know that the item belongs to one of us.
So far I’ve put them on lunchboxes, backpacks, tablet covers, and water bottles. I purchased a Mega Pack, which comes with 78 labels (24 approx. 2 x .5 inch labels and 54 1 x .25 inch labels), so I’ve got many, many more that I’ll be able to use over the years. And since phone numbers can change but our last name won’t, maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea to stick with just our name after all.
Oh, and by the way, if you don’t need name labels, there are still plenty of options to choose from for both kids and adults. They offer really cute keyboard stickers (I want one!), canning/baking labels, allergy alert labels, and lots more.
The Mega Set of 78 labels was $28, and a Mini Set with 120 mini-labels is $21. Shipping is always free, plus you can use the promo code ilovelabels to save 15% on any order! Visit Kidecals online to place your order, and visit them on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest to learn more!
Whew. Time to hit publish before this becomes a Fabulous Friday Feature.
